Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you prepare well enough. We've put together a list of top travel tips that will get your Hamler escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a great experience if you've got all the right stuff. First of all you'll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare pair of socks and a few magazines. Secondly, find room in your bag for your phone and charger, any daily medications and perhaps a neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to take your passport, travel papers and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have a sharp object lurking in one of the compartments of your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include explosive or flammable substances, such as fuel and fireworks, and gels and liquids in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort really should be your number one priority when deciding what to wear on board. Consider your choice of footwear carefully too, as swollen ankles and feet can be a side effect of flying. Flat, slightly roomy shoes are always a smart option.
- Unfortunately, a risk of flying long distances is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged inactivity. To prevent this from happening, take every opportunity to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs. Compression socks and tights are also a great idea to help reduce this risk.
