Depending on where you're coming from, your trip to Headingley could be a piece of cake or it could drag on forever. We've pulled together some handy tips that will help you start your next great escape on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, pack in your passport, travel docs, cash and medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A juicy book and a tablet filled with your favorite movies are some terrific options. If you hope to catch up on some sleep, a neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also be useful. Finally, squeeze in a few toiletry items to ensure you step off the plane feeling fresh as a daisy.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a Swiss Army knife hiding in the bottom of your carry-on luggage. Other restricted items include flammable or explosive products, such as fuel and matches, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your priority is to be as comfortable as possible. Pick shoes that are easy to pull on and off, dress in loose, breathable clothing and remember to bring a sweater in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Make a point of walking around the cabin or do some gentle exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
