We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight as pain-free as possible. Follow our insider tips and you'll be hightailing it through airport security and having a blast in Heliodora in no time flat. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a cruisy experience if you carry the right gear. First of all you'll need toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a spare pair of socks and a few magazines. Next, make room in your hand luggage for your phone, tablet and chargers, your important medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, remember to bring your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and poisons, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and go for shoes that are enclosed, flat and easy to slip on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to wander around the cabin or do some simple exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
