No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're well prepared. We've made a list of handy tips and tricks that will get your Henties Bay escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Traveling on a plane can be a comfortable experience if you pack the right things. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh set of clothes and something to read. Next, make room in your carry-on bag for your mobile phone, a charger, any medications and maybe a quality neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel docs and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and fuels, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to be as comfortable as you can. Opt for a pair of slip-on shoes, dress in loose, natural fibers and don't forget to take a jacket in case you get cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
