We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey an enjoyable experience. Follow our insider tips and you'll be hightailing it through airport security and having a blast in Ikla before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First of all, put in your passport, important documents, cash and daily medications. Next, you'll want some in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling book and a phone crammed with your favorite shows are some great options. If you hope to catch forty winks, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of noise-canceling headphones will also be useful. Finally, make room for a few toiletry items so you'll arrive at your destination looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and matches, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to be as comfortable as you can. Choose shoes that are easy to pull on and off, dress in loose, natural fibers and don't forget to bring a sweater in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
