No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you prepare well enough. We've made a list of handy travel tips that will get your Itokama vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a stress-free experience if you carry the right stuff. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare change of clothes and a good novel. Secondly, leave space in your hand luggage for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any medications and maybe a quality neck pillow as well. Lastly, don't forget to take your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, bleaching agents and gasoline, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort really should be your main priority when deciding what to wear during your flight. Consider your footwear carefully too, as swollen ankles and feet can be a side effect of flying. Shoes which are flat and slightly roomy are always a sensible way to go.
- A condition by the name of DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation and inactivity. Walking up and down the aisle and doing leg and foot exercises in your seat is a great way to prevent this from occurring. Wearing a good-quality pair of compression socks or tights is also a wise idea.
