Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Karachev could be as easy as pie or it could go on forever. We've rounded up some handy hints that will help you start your next big adventure on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First things first, pack your passport, official ID, credit cards and daily medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy book and a phone filled with your favorite movies are some terrific options. If you intend to take a quick nap, a quality neck pillow and some noise-canceling headphones will also be useful. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes to ensure you hop off the plane looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a sharp object hiding in one of the zippers of your hand luggage. Other prohibited items include flammable or explosive products, such as aerosol cans and bleach, and gels and liquids in containers larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The narrow aisles of an airplane are no place for a fashion parade. Layer yourself up with comfortable clothes and bring a cardigan as it tends to get cool inside the cabin. Enclosed, flat shoes are always a good idea too.
- Unfortunately, one risk of flying long distances is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To avoid this, take every opportunity to wander around the cabin. Compression tights and socks are also a great idea to help lower your risk.
