Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you've planned ahead. We've made a list of handy travel tips that will help get your Karkari Peninsula escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a cruisy experience if you carry the right gear. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a spare change of clothes and something to read. Secondly, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your phone and charger, medications and perhaps a neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel docs and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your trusty pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and matches, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The narrow aisles of your plane are no place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and bring a sweater as it can get chilly inside the cabin. Closed-toed, flat shoes are always a good idea too.
- Caused by sustained periods of immobility, DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a blood clotting condition that can affect some passengers on long-haul flights. The great news is there are ways to reduce your risk of developing it. Stay hydrated, walk around the cabin as often as possible and wear compression tights or socks.
