No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you've prepared well. We've put together a list of handy tips that will get your Kite vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's simple — first, pack in your passport, important documents, wallet and vital medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A juicy novel and a phone filled with your favorite shows are some wonderful options. If you hope to catch a few z's, a neck pillow and a pair of noise-canceling headphones will also be useful. Finally, leave some space for a few toiletry items so you'll arrive at your destination looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and fuels, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort really should be your priority when picking what to wear on board. Consider your choice of footwear carefully too, as swollen ankles and feet can be a side effect of flying. Flat shoes which are slightly roomy are your best bet.
- It's likely you've heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of inactivity. There are many ways to minimize your risk. Wear compression socks, stay well hydrated and remember to keep your legs and feet moving. Walk the aisles of the cabin or try out some exercises in your seat.
