Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're well prepared. Follow these handy travel tips that will get your La Santa vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a cruisy experience if you've got all the right things. First of all you'll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare set of clothes and a few magazines. Next, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, your important medications and maybe a comfy neck pillow too. Lastly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel documents and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp objects, like a pocket knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, bleaching agents and poisons, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should always be your prime concern when choosing what to wear during your flight. Consider your choice of footwear carefully too, as swollen feet can be a side effect of flying. Flat, slightly roomy shoes are your best bet.
- A serious condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation. Walking around the cabin and doing regular leg and foot exercises while seated helps to prevent this from occurring. Wearing a good-quality pair of compression socks or tights is also a wise idea.
