If you're not prepared, air travel can be a real challenge. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these handy hints and enjoy a comfortable start to your time in Le Vigan. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a comfortable experience if you bring the right stuff. First things first, you'll need toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh change of clothes and a good read. Next, leave space in your carry-on bag for your phone and charger, any daily medications and maybe a comfy neck pillow too. Lastly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, bleaching agents and strong acids, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The main aim is to make yourself as comfortable as you can. Dress in loose, natural-fiber clothing and take a jacket in case it gets chilly in the cabin. Opt for flat, well-fitting shoes as your feet may swell during the journey. Leave the high heels and heavy boots in your checked luggage.
- The serious condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation. Doing leg and foot exercises in your seat helps to prevent this happening. Wearing a good pair of compression tights or socks also helps reduce the risk.
