Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you prepare well enough. We've put together a list of handy hints that will help get your Lima vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, put in your passport, travel documents, wallet and vital medications. Next, you'll want some extra in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A juicy novel and a tablet filled with your favorite movies are some fantastic options. If you plan to take a short nap, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, make room for a toothbrush and some facial wipes to ensure you arrive at your destination feeling fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items can differ between airlines, the general guide to follow is nothing flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes screwdrivers, knives, fuel and fireworks. Sports equipment like hockey sticks, and items that could harm passengers, such as guns and swords, won't be allowed on board either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Choose comfort over style. Prepare for changes in cabin temperature by donning layers, and wear flat, closed-toe shoes like slip-ons.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by extended periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Make a point of walking around the cabin or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
