Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you've prepared well enough. We've put together a list of handy travel tips that will help get your Luanda vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The secret to having a hassle-free flight experience is to be prepared. So, let's start with the basics: passport, travel docs, credit cards and important medications. Next, bring on board items that'll help while away those hours, like your laptop or a few magazines. It's also a wise idea to pack your chargers, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of noise-canceling headphones. Last but not least, don't forget to pop in toiletries like a toothbrush, deodorant and a fresh change of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and gasoline, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to feel as comfortable as possible. Opt for shoes that are easy to slip on and off, dress in loose, natural-fiber clothing and remember to bring a pullover in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
