We've pulled together all the info you need to make your journey as pain-free as possible. Follow our tips and you'll be breezing through airport security and having a blast in Lyon in no time flat. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's easy — first, put in your passport, important documents, credit cards and daily medications. Next, you'll want some entertainment to help pass the time. A juicy book and a laptop filled with your favorite movies are some terrific options. If you hope to take a short snooze, a neck pillow and some noise-canceling headphones will also be useful. Finally, squeeze in a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes to ensure you hop off the plane feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp objects, like your beloved pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and strong acids, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim is to be as comfortable as possible. Opt for shoes that are easy to slip on and off, dress in loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to take a pullover in case it gets chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to wander around the cabin or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
