We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey as stress-free as possible. Follow our top tips and you'll be breezing through airport security and enjoying Mario in no time flat. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be easy if you take the right gear. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a clean set of clothes and a good read. Next, make room in your hand luggage for your electronic devices, chargers, any daily medications and maybe a neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp objects, like your precious pocket knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and fuels, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your top priority when deciding what to wear during your flight. Loose, breathable clothing is a smart choice, as are enclosed shoes like sneakers.
- Caused by sustained periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect some passengers during long-distance flights. Reduce the risks by staying hydrated, keeping your legs and feet moving and wearing compression socks or tights.
