Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've prepared well enough. We've made a list of essential travel tips that will help get your Merceuil escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a great experience if you've got all the right gear. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare pair of socks and something to read. Next, find a spot in your bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to bring your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have a sharp object lurking in one of the compartments of your hand luggage. Other banned items include flammable or explosive goods, such as fuel and matches, and gels and liquids in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The key to a comfortable flight can be as simple as your choice in clothes. Prepare for temperature changes by bringing layers. That way you'll stay nice and warm if the cabin begins to cool down. Shoes like sandals and heels are best left in your checked suitcase. Instead, go for flat, closed-toed footwear like sneakers. Your feet will thank you later.
- The condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation and inactivity. Walking around the cabin and doing regular foot and leg exercises while seated helps to prevent this from happening. Wearing a high-quality pair of compression socks or tights is also recommended.
