We've pulled together all the info you need to make your flight as pain-free as possible. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be zooming through the airport and having a blast in Mergo in no time at all. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a comfortable experience if you pack the right stuff. First of all you'll need basic toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a fresh set of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, leave space in your hand luggage for your electronic devices, chargers, any medications and maybe a cozy neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to take your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and fuels, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The best way to ensure a comfortable flight often lies in your clothing choices. Prepare yourself for varying temperatures by bringing layers. That way you'll stay nice and warm if the cabin gets too cold. Shoes like flip flops and heels are best left in your checked suitcase. Even though they may be your favorites, go for flat, closed-toed footwear like sneakers. Your feet will thank you for it.
- Unfortunately, one risk of flying long distances is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity. To prevent this from happening, take every opportunity to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs. Compression socks and tights are another easy way to help lower your risk.
