Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you've prepared well enough. We've made a list of handy hints that will help get your Mery vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The secret to having an awesome travel experience is to pack ahead. So, let's start with the basics: passport, travel documents, cash and daily medications. Next, bring on board items that'll help keep you entertained, like some electronic gadgets or a few magazines. It's also smart to pack your chargers, a quality neck pillow and a pair of headphones. Last but not least, be sure to pop in toiletry items like a toothbrush, facial wipes and a clean set of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items can differ between airlines, the general rule to follow is avoid carrying anything sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes things like knives, scissors, fuels and bleaching agents. Sports equipment like baseball bats, and objects that could injure passengers, such as guns and swords, aren't allowed in the cabin either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main priority is to be as comfortable as you can. Go for shoes that are easy to pull on and off, dress in loose, natural-fiber clothing and don't forget to bring a jacket in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
