No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you've planned ahead. We've made a list of top travel tips that will get your Morrison escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a cruisy experience if you've got all the right gear. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a spare set of clothes and a magazine or two. Next, make room in your bag for your phone and charger, any medications and maybe a cozy neck pillow as well. Lastly, be sure to bring your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Pointed or sharp objects, like your pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and matches, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to choose comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes in the cabin by wearing layers, and wear flat, closed-toe footwear like slip-ons.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
