Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've planned ahead. We've compiled a list of handy tips that will help get your Nagchu escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a great experience if you pack the right things. First things first, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a clean set of clothes and a magazine or two. Secondly, make room in your carry-on bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, your medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to take your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and matches, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The main aim is to make yourself as comfortable as you can. Layer up with loose, natural fibers and bring a jacket just in case you get chilly. Always opt for flat, well-fitting shoes as your feet may swell during the flight. Leave the high heels and heavy hiking boots in your checked baggage.
- A serious condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation and inactivity. Walking around the cabin and doing regular leg and foot exercises in your seat is a great way to prevent this occurring. Wearing a quality pair of compression tights or socks also helps reduce your risk.
