Wherever you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've prepared well enough. We've made a list of handy tips that will help get your Naters escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The secret to having an amazing flight experience is to plan ahead. Start with the essentials: passport, official ID, credit cards and important medications. Next, bring items that'll help keep you occupied, like some electronic devices or a juicy novel. It's also smart to pack your chargers, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of noise-canceling headphones. And of course, be sure to toss in toiletry items like a toothbrush, lip balm and a spare set of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Pointed or sharp objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosols and gasoline, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Choose comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes in the cabin by dressing in layers, and wear easy-to-remove footwear like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by extended periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Walk around the cabin and give your legs a stretch or do some gentle exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
