Depending on where you're coming from, your trip to New Baden could be a piece of cake or it could go on forever. We've rounded up some handy hints that will help you start your next great escape on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a pleasure if you take the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare change of clothes and a few magazines. Next, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, any medications and perhaps a neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to take your passport, travel papers and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of banned items can differ between airlines, the general rule of thumb is nothing sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes screwdrivers, drills, spray paint and flares. Sporting equipment like golf clubs, and items that could harm passengers, such as pepper spray and firearms, can't come on board with you either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to feel as comfortable as possible. Layer up in breathable clothing and take a cardigan in case it gets chilly in the cabin. Go for a pair of flat, slightly roomy shoes as your feet may swell a little during the journey. Leave the stilettos and chunky boots in your luggage.
- The condition by the name of DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation. Walking around the cabin and doing regular foot and leg exercises in your seat is a great way to prevent this happening. Wearing a quality pair of compression socks or tights also helps reduce your risk.
