Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've prepared well. We've put together a list of handy hints that will help get your Newgulf vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The secret to having an awesome travel experience is to be prepared. So, let's start with the basics: passport, travel docs, credit cards and vital medications. Next, bring on board items that'll help keep you occupied, like some electronic devices or a thrilling novel. It's also wise to pack your chargers, a neck pillow and a pair of noise-canceling headphones. And of course, be sure to squeeze in toiletries like a toothbrush, lip balm and a fresh set of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have sharp or pointed objects hiding in your carry-on luggage. Other restricted items include flammable or explosive goods, like aerosols and matches, and gels and liquids in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The narrow aisles of an aircraft are no place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and bring a sweater as it tends to get cool inside the cabin on long-haul flights. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are always a good choice too.
- Unfortunately, one risk of long flights is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged inactivity. To avoid this, make the most of every opportunity to walk around and give your legs a stretch. Compression socks and tights are also a great idea to help reduce this risk.
