We've pulled together all the info you need to make your journey an enjoyable experience. Follow our tips and you'll be hightailing it through airport security and enjoying Oberhof in no time at all. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Traveling on a plane can be a great experience if you pack the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare pair of socks and a good read. Secondly, find room in your carry-on bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, medications and maybe a proper neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to take your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your precious pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosols and poisons, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to feel as comfortable as possible. Pick slip-on footwear, dress in loose, natural-fiber clothing and don't forget to bring a pullover in case you get cold in the cabin.
- Most travelers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To lower your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression socks and keep your feet and legs moving.
