We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight as pain-free as possible. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be cruising through airport security and having a ball in Omaha in next to no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, pack in your passport, official ID, wallet and medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A thrilling novel and a laptop crammed with your favorite shows are some fantastic options. If you intend to take a quick nap, a quality neck pillow and a pair of noise-canceling headphones will also be useful. Finally, squeeze in a few toiletry items to ensure you arrive at your destination looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like a pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and poisons, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft are no place for a fashion parade. Dress in comfortable layers and go for shoes that are flat, roomy and easy to remove.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Walk around the cabin and give your legs a stretch or do some gentle exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
