Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've prepared well enough. We've put together a list of top travel tips that will help get your Overgaard vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, put in your passport, travel documents, bank cards and vital medications. Next, you'll need some entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy novel and a laptop filled with your favorite shows are good options. If you hope to take a quick nap, a neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also be useful. Finally, find room for a few toiletry items so you'll step off the plane feeling fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your trusty pocket knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and strong acids, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to choose comfort over style. Prepare for changes in cabin temperature by dressing in layers, and pick easy-to-remove shoes like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
