Wherever you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're prepared. We've made a list of handy hints that will get your Parapat escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's simple — first, pack your passport, important documents, wallet and vital medications. Next, you'll want some entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy novel and a phone filled with your favorite movies are some fantastic options. If you intend to take a short snooze, a neck pillow and some earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, squeeze in a toothbrush and some deodorant so you'll step off the plane looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a sharp object hiding in your carry-on luggage. Other prohibited items include explosive or flammable products, such as fuel and fireworks, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The main aim is to make yourself as comfortable as possible. Dress in loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to pack a jacket just in case you get chilly. Always go with well-fitting, flat shoes as your feet may swell during the flight. Leave the stilettos and heavy hiking boots in your checked baggage.
- A condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a potential risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation. Doing regular leg and foot exercises in your seat helps to prevent this from occurring. Wearing a high-quality pair of compression socks or tights may also help.
