Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're prepared. We've made a list of handy hints that will help get your Peace River vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First of all, pack in your passport, travel documents, wallet and medications. Next, you'll want some entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy book and a laptop crammed with your favorite movies are always good options. If you intend to take a quick snooze, a quality neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also be useful. Finally, find room for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes so you'll arrive feeling fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp objects, like your beloved pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as spray paint, flares and fireworks, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your top priority is to be as comfortable as you can. Choose shoes that are easy to pull on and off, dress in loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to bring a jacket in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- Most travelers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of inactivity. To lessen your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression tights or socks and do gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat.
