If you're poorly prepared, traveling can be challenging. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these handy hints for a pain-free start to your getaway in Peetz. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a pleasure if you carry the right things. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a clean pair of socks and a good read. Secondly, find room in your bag for your phone and charger, any daily medications and perhaps a cozy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, bleaching agents and gasoline, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your number one priority is to make yourself as comfortable as you can. Layer up with loose, natural fibers and pack a sweater in case it gets cool. Opt for flat, slightly roomy shoes as your feet may swell a little during the flight. Leave the stilettos and chunky boots in your checked luggage.
- Unfortunately, one risk of flying long-haul is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity. To avoid this, take every opportunity to wander around the cabin. Compression tights and socks are also a great idea to help reduce this risk.
