No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've prepared well enough. We've compiled a list of handy tips and tricks that will get your Perano escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a cruisy experience if you've got all the right gear. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare change of clothes and a good novel. Next, find room in your carry-on bag for your laptop, a charger, any daily medications and perhaps a cozy neck pillow as well. Lastly, be sure to take your passport, travel documents and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and matches, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to be as comfortable as you can. Go for shoes that are easy to slip on and off, dress in loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to bring a jacket in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Make a point of walking around the cabin or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
