Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're well organized. We've made a list of essential travel tips that will help get your Pomos escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a pleasure if you bring the right things. Firstly, you'll want some toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a clean pair of socks and a good book. Secondly, make room in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, your important medications and perhaps a cozy neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to take your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items differs between air carriers, the general rule of thumb is nothing sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes screwdrivers, pocket knives, fuel and fireworks. Sporting equipment like hockey sticks, and items that could harm passengers, such as firearms and ammunition, can't come on board with you either.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to go for comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes by wearing layers, and wear flat, enclosed shoes like slip-ons.
- Most of us have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of inactivity. To minimize your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression socks and move your legs and feet often.
