We've pulled together all the info you need to make your flight as pain-free as possible. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be hightailing it through airport security and having a blast in Pool of Muckhart before you know it.What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be easy if you take the right things. First of all you'll need basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a fresh set of clothes and a magazine or two. Next, leave space in your carry-on bag for your phone and charger, medications and maybe a neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, remember to take your passport, travel papers and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have a sharp object lurking in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include flammable or explosive substances, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and liquids and gels in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The key to a comfortable flight is as simple as your choice of clothing. Prepare for temperature changes by bringing layers. This will keep you nice and warm if the cabin begins to cool down. Shoes like stilettos, flip flops and lace-up boots are best left in your suitcase. Even though they may be your favorites, opt for flat, closed-toed footwear like sneakers. Your feet will thank you for it.
- You've probably heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of sitting. There's lots you can do to minimize your risk. Wear a good-quality pair of compression socks or tights, stay hydrated and remember to keep your legs and feet moving. Do a few laps of the cabin or perform exercises in your seat.
