Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've prepared well enough. We've put together a list of handy hints that will help get your Rockwood vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, pack your passport, important documents, wallet and daily medications. Next, you'll want some entertainment to while away the time. A juicy novel and a tablet crammed with your favorite movies are some terrific options. If you plan to catch more than just forty winks, a neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also be useful. Finally, leave space for a few toiletry items so you'll hop off the plane feeling fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items can differ between air carriers, the general guide to follow is nothing sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes things like screwdrivers, pocket knives, spray paint and flares. Sports equipment like ski poles, and items that could harm passengers, such as firearms and swords, aren't allowed in the cabin either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane are no place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and opt for shoes that are flat, enclosed and easy to remove.
- Caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clot condition that can affect passengers on long-distance flights. Lower your risks by drinking water, keeping your lower limbs moving and wearing compression socks or tights.
