Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you've prepared well enough. We've put together a list of handy travel tips that will get your Sakuho escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a cruisy experience if you've got all the right gear. Firstly, you'll need toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a fresh set of clothes and a magazine or two. Next, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your laptop, a charger, any vital medications and maybe a proper neck pillow too. Lastly, be sure to take your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items can differ between airlines, the general guide to follow is nothing sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes things like screwdrivers, drills, aerosol cans and flares. Sporting equipment like ski poles, and items that could harm passengers, such as guns and swords, are also banned from the cabin.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your number one priority when selecting what to wear on your flight. Consider your footwear carefully too, as swollen feet can be a side effect of flying. Shoes which are flat and slightly roomy work well.
- Unfortunately, one risk of flying long-haul is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To prevent this from happening, make the most of every opportunity to walk around and give your legs a stretch. Compression socks and tights are another great idea to help lower your risk.
