If you're poorly prepared, airports and flying can be challenging. But there's no need to hit the panic button just yet. Follow these handy tips and enjoy a worry-free start to your vacation in San Salvador. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First of all, put in your passport, travel documents, wallet and medications. Next, you'll want some in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A juicy book and a laptop crammed with your favorite shows are some great options. If you hope to catch forty winks, a neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, leave space for a few toiletry items to ensure you touchdown looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and fireworks, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your priority is to feel as comfortable as possible. Opt for shoes that are easy to pull on and off, dress in loose, breathable clothing and remember to take a sweater in case it gets chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
