We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight as stress-free as possible. Follow our tips and you'll be cruising through airport security and discovering Santa Mônica in no time at all. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Traveling on a plane can be easy if you've got all the right things. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a fresh change of clothes and a good novel. Secondly, find a spot in your hand luggage for your phone, tablet and chargers, any daily medications and maybe a neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and strong acids, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft are no place for a fashion parade. Layer your clothing and pick shoes that are closed-toe, flat and easy to slip on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to wander around the cabin or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
