We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight as stress-free as possible. Follow our insider tips and you'll be speeding through airport security and seeing the best of Sel before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a comfortable experience if you pack the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a fresh change of clothes and a good read. Next, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your laptop, a charger, any medications and perhaps a quality neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to take your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and strong acids, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Go for comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes by dressing in layers, and opt for flat, closed-toe footwear like slip-ons.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Wander around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some gentle exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
