Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you prepare well enough. We've made a list of handy tips and tricks that will get your Sleights escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, pack in your passport, travel documents, credit cards and medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A juicy book and a laptop crammed with your favorite movies are some terrific options. If you hope to take a quick nap, a quality neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also be useful. Finally, make room for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes to ensure you arrive feeling fresh as a daisy.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Pointed or sharp objects, like your beloved pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as spray paint, flares and strong acids, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your main concern when deciding what to wear during your flight. Loose clothing is a sensible option, as are flat, closed-toe shoes.
- The result of lengthy periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clot condition that can affect some passengers during long-distance flights. Lower your risks by staying hydrated, keeping your feet and legs moving and wearing compression socks or tights.
