We've rounded up all the info you need to make your journey an enjoyable experience. Follow our tips and you'll be hightailing it through the airport and discovering Spina before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a comfortable experience if you've got all the right gear. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a clean set of clothes and a good book. Secondly, find room in your hand luggage for your phone, tablet and chargers, your important medications and maybe a comfy neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, remember to take your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have sharp or pointed objects lurking in the bottom of your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include explosive or flammable goods, such as aerosol cans and bleach, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft are no place for a fashion parade. Wear layers and go for shoes that are flat, roomy and easy to take on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some gentle exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
