If you're not prepared, airports and flying can be testing. But there's no need to hit the panic button just yet. Follow these handy tips and enjoy a comfortable start to your time in Stites. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, pack your passport, important documents, credit cards and vital medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy novel and a phone filled with your favorite shows are some fantastic options. If you hope to take a quick nap, a quality neck pillow and a pair of noise-canceling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, find room for a toothbrush and some facial wipes so you'll hop off the plane looking and feeling fresh.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have sharp or pointed objects lurking in one of the compartments of your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include flammable or explosive goods, like aerosols and matches, and gels and liquids in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to be as comfortable as you can. Choose shoes that are easy to pull on and off, dress in loose, natural fibers and don't forget to bring a sweater in case it gets chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
