Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're well prepared. We've compiled a list of handy hints that will get your Tebanca vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The trick to having an amazing travel experience is to pack in advance. Start with the essentials: passport, travel documents, bank cards and daily medications. Next, take on board items that'll help pass the time, like some electronic devices or a good book. It's also smart to pack your chargers, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of headphones. And of course, be sure to pop in toiletry items like a toothbrush, cleansing wipes and a fresh change of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items can differ between air carriers, the general rule to follow is nothing flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes knives, scissors, aerosol cans and flares. Sports equipment like golf clubs, and items that could injure passengers, such as swords and guns, are also banned from the cabin.
What to wear on a flight:
- The long, narrow aisles of an aircraft are no fashion runway. Wear comfortable clothes and bring a sweater as it can get quite cool in the cabin. Enclosed, flat shoes are also recommended.
- Unfortunately, a risk of flying long-haul is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To prevent this, take every opportunity to stretch your legs and walk around the cabin. Compression tights and socks are also a great idea to help minimize this risk.
