Wherever you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're well organized. We've put together a list of handy tips and tricks that will get your Terres escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's easy — first, pack in your passport, travel documents, bank cards and medications. Next, you'll want some entertainment to while away the hours. A thrilling novel and a phone crammed with your favorite movies are always good options. If you intend to catch forty winks, a neck pillow and a pair of noise-canceling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, leave space for a few toiletry items to ensure you touchdown looking and feeling fresh.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and gasoline, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to feel as comfortable as you can. Pick slip-on footwear, dress in loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to take a sweater in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a potential risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
