Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've planned ahead. We've put together a list of handy hints that will help get your Thorsmork escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a comfortable experience if you pack the right things. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as lip balm and hand cream, a fresh change of clothes and a good book. Secondly, leave space in your hand luggage for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any medications and maybe a comfy neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel docs and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, flares and fireworks, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim is to feel as comfortable as you can. Opt for shoes that are easy to pull on and off, dress in loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to bring a pullover in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some simple exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
