We've rounded up all the info you need to make your journey as enjoyable as possible. Follow our tips and you'll be cruising through the airport and having a ball in Timbunke before you know it.What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a stress-free experience if you take the right gear. Firstly, you'll need toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a clean set of clothes and a good book. Secondly, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your laptop, a charger, any daily medications and perhaps a neck pillow too. Lastly, remember to take your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and gasoline, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort really should be your priority when choosing what to wear on your flight. Consider your footwear choice carefully too, as swollen feet can be a side effect of flying. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are always a smart option.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long-haul flights is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To avoid this, take every opportunity to stretch your legs and walk around the cabin. Compression socks and tights are another great idea to help minimize this risk.
