No matter where you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've prepared well. We've made a list of top travel tips that will help get your Tucano vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First things first, put in your passport, important documents, credit cards and daily medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A thrilling book and a laptop filled with your favorite movies are good options. If you hope to catch a few z's, a quality neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also be useful. Finally, make room for a few toiletry items so you'll hop off the plane feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items differs between air carriers, the general rule to follow is nothing flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes screwdrivers, blades, aerosol cans and bleaching agents. Sporting equipment like golf clubs, and items that could harm other people, such as firearms and ammunition, won't be allowed on board either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane are no place for a fashion parade. Wear comfortable clothes and take a cardigan as the temperature can drop inside the cabin. Enclosed, flat shoes are also a good idea.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long-distance travel is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged inactivity. To avoid this, take every opportunity to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs. Compression socks and tights are also a great idea to help reduce this risk.
