No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're well organized. Check out these handy tips that will get your Ty Ty vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a stress-free experience if you carry the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare change of clothes and a magazine or two. Next, leave space in your bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, any daily medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to take your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp objects, like your pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, flares and gasoline, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft are not the place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and pack a sweater as it can get quite cool inside the cabin during long-haul flights. Flat, enclosed shoes are also a wise idea.
- A condition by the name of DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation. Doing leg and foot exercises in your seat is a great way to prevent this occurring. Wearing a high-quality pair of compression socks or tights is also recommended.
