We've pulled together all the info you need to make your flight a pleasant experience. Follow our tips and you'll be zooming through the airport and having a blast in Veyo before you know it.What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a great experience if you take the right gear. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh set of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, make room in your bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, any daily medications and maybe a quality neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items differs between air carriers, the general rule of thumb is avoid carrying anything flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes screwdrivers, knives, fuel and fireworks. Sporting equipment like hockey sticks, and objects that could harm passengers, such as pepper spray and guns, aren't allowed in the cabin either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to make yourself as comfortable as you can. Layer yourself up in natural fibers and bring a sweater in case it gets cold in the cabin. Opt for roomy, flat shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell a little during the flight. Leave the high heels and heavy boots in your checked luggage.
- Unfortunately, one risk of long flights is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by extended periods of inactivity. To prevent this, take every opportunity to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs. Compression tights and socks are another great idea to help reduce this risk.
