We've pulled together all the info you need to make your flight a stress-free experience. Follow our insider tips and you'll be cruising through the airport and enjoying Vidlin in no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a cruisy experience if you've got all the right things. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a clean pair of socks and a good read. Secondly, leave space in your hand luggage for your electronic devices, chargers, any medications and maybe a comfy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items can differ between air carriers, the general guide to follow is nothing sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes box cutters, razor blades, aerosol cans and flares. Sports equipment like golf clubs, and objects that could harm passengers, such as pepper spray and guns, won't be allowed on board either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The narrow aisles of an aircraft are not the best place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and don't forget to bring a cardigan as the temperature can drop in the cabin during long-haul flights. Closed-toed, flat shoes are also a good idea.
- Unfortunately, one risk of long flights is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity. To prevent this, make the most of every opportunity to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs. Compression tights and socks are also a great idea to help minimize this risk.
