No matter where you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've prepared well enough. We've made a list of handy tips and tricks that will get your Villafranca vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be easy if you pack the right things. First things first, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare change of clothes and a magazine or two. Secondly, find room in your hand luggage for your laptop, a charger, medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel docs and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items differs between airlines, the general guide to follow is avoid carrying anything sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes things like screwdrivers, drills, fuels and bleaching agents. Sporting equipment like golf clubs, and items that could harm passengers, such as firearms and ammunition, can't come on board with you either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The narrow aisles of your airplane are not the place for a fashion parade. Layer yourself up with comfortable clothes and remember to bring a sweater as it tends to get cool inside the cabin during longer flights. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are also a good idea.
- The serious condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a potential risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation. Doing leg and foot exercises in your seat is a great way to prevent this developing. Wearing a high-quality pair of compression socks may also help.
