Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're well organized. We've made a list of handy tips that will help get your White Cross vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First things first, pack your passport, official ID, wallet and vital medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling novel and a phone filled with your favorite movies are some wonderful options. If you hope to take a short snooze, a neck pillow and a pair of noise-canceling headphones will also be useful. Finally, squeeze in a toothbrush and some deodorant to ensure you step off the plane feeling fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have sharp objects (like a knife or scissors) hiding in the bottom of your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include flammable or explosive goods, such as bleach and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your number one priority when choosing what to wear on your flight. Loose clothing is a wise option, as are flat, slip-on shoes.
- Most travelers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of sitting. To reduce your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression tights or socks and keep your feet and legs moving.
